4. The refrigerator should not occupy too much space of the room. Moreover, it should not obstruct the fire exit or passage of any bedroom/ suite/ common area ; and
5. Plug and cable are in good condition; and
6. The electricity plug of the refrigerator has to be inserted into a wall socket and is not allowed to insert into an extension unit; and
7. 3-pin plug which complies with the safety requirements stipulated by the EMSD; and
8. The refrigerator meets the local statutory safety requirements stipulated by the EMSD; and
9. Since the University provides refrigerators on each floor, a surcharge of HK$135 (for the 1st semester only) , HK$345 (for both 1st and 2nd semesters) or HK$189 (for the 2nd semester only) will be imposed separately on the use of refrigerator, if permission is granted.

Having a refrigerator or other sizable/ high energy consumption electrical appliances to be used in a room without seeking prior approval of HMU and Warden will be considered as creating hazard in the dormitory. HMU and the Warden Team will take such behavior seriously. Your understanding and cooperation is highly appreciated.
