Background
The establishment of the Social Research Centre (SRC) was first proposed in 2016. It is an expansion of the original Centre for Qualitative Research.
Preparation work for the Centre started since November 2016. In August 2017, a donation of HK $250,000 was received from Mr. Gilbert Leung and his family as seed money to get the work of the Centre started. Now, the SRC is in full operation.
Objectives
Social Research Centre serves as a platform to :
- facilitate and coordinate research projects of faculty members as well as students;
- be a training station for students specializing in social research to have hands-on training in all stages of social research;
- organize visits of scholars, seminars, conferences and staff meetings;
- establish linkages with local and oversea research institutions for research collaboration and exchange research experience
